2 Birthday Parties in a day

Yesterday, we attended 2 kiddy birthday parties both are sons of our barkada.

The 1st party we attended is at Jollibee Festival Mall, it was Andrei's 2nd birthday. Ang kukulit ng mga bata, they were not playing the games they were having their own game, especially the birthday boy. My daughter wants to play with them but she's too small for them.. baka isang bunggo o tulak lang sa kanya, madisgrasya pa.

The 2nd one was at Jollibee Pacita, it was Eejay's 7th birthday. Grabe! Inuman at videoke!

Sorry I don't have pictures to show you, I have my camera with me but I'm too shy to use it. Di pa kasi automatic at hindi pa digital. But it's my daughter's memory photos sana..

My First Tooth Extraction

Today I had my first (ever) permanent tooth extraction and it really hurts! Farah, my dentist, friend and co-Licean, tried to extract the tooth last week but I can't tolerate the pain due to infection. So, she prescribed Amoxicillin for the infection. Marami akong pasta sa ngipin and I had braces then, pero iba talaga ang bunot!

Now, I am recovering from the pain. Wasn't able to eat lunch. huhuhu. Buti na lang binilhan ako ng hubby ko ng ice cream, kahit paano to ease the pain. Kaya ito nag-a-update ako ng blog to divert the pain.

My Attorney - Paid in Full

After living what I felt was a "decent" life, my time on earth came to the end. The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a court house. The doors opened and Iwas instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the "prosecutor." He was avillainous looking gent who snarled as he stared atme. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

I sat down and looked to my left and there sat MyAttorney, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knewHim.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judgein full flowing robes He commanded an awesome presenceas He moved across the room. I couldn't take my eyesoff of Him. As He took His seat behind the bench, Hesaid, "Let us begin."

The prosecutor rose and said, "My name is Satan and Iam here to show you why this sinner belongs in hell."He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things thatI stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satantold of other horrible perversions that were once inmy life and the more he spoke, the further down in myseat I sank.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins thateven I had completely forgotten about. As upset as Iwas at Satan for telling all these things about me, Iwas equally upset at My Attorney who sat theresilently not offering any form of defense at all. Iknow I had been guilty of those things, but I had donesome good in my life -- couldn't that at least equalout part of the harm I'd done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, "This sinnerbelongs in hell, and is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can proveotherwise."

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if Hemight approach the bench. The Judge allowed this overthe strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him tocome forward. As He got up and started walking, I wasable to see Him in His full splendor and majesty. I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesusrepresenting me, my Lord and my Savior.

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge,"Hi, Dad," and then He turned to address the court."Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned,I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, thewage of sin is death, and this sinner deserves to bepunished." Jesus took a deep breath and turned toHis Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed,"However, I died on the cross so that this personmight have eternal life and he has accepted Me as hisSavior, so he is Mine."

My Lord continued with, "His name is written in thebook of life and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to begiven justice, but rather mercy."

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at HisFather and said, "There is nothing else that needs tobe done. I've done it all."

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gaveldown. The following words resounded from His lips..."This man is free. The penalty for him has alreadybeen paid in full. Case dismissed."

As my Lord embraced me and led me away, I could hearSatan ranting and raving, "I won't give up, I will winthe next one."

I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where togo next, "Have you ever lost a case?" Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that has come to Me and asked Me to represent them has received the sameverdict as you, "PAID IN FULL."

"Stop telling God how big your storm is. Instead, tell the storm how big your God is!"

14 Essential Truths

The following are 14 essential truths you must understand in order to improve your communication skills.

FOCUS--When someone is talking to you, STOP what you are doing and thinking. Face the person talking, devote 100% of you attention to both the person speaking and to what is being said.
LISTEN--Don't just "hear" the words being spoken. Listen to what and how the statements are being said. Observe body signals and facial expressions.
ATTENTION--Don't let your mind wander. Let the person finish what they are saying, then take a few seconds to think about what your response will be.
PARAPHRASE--When the person is finished speaking repeat back in your own words what you heard. Ask the person if you have an understanding of what they said.
EMPATHY--Be aware of the other person's needs. Everybody has different needs, wants and desires. Be cautious about substituting your needs for theirs.
ASK--DON'T TELL. Telling quickly gets the other person on the defensive. Save your comments and guidance until you totally understand the question and the situation.
BE OPEN --Don't criticize, pass judgement or preach. Make objective conclusions about alternate ideas, people and situations. Be careful of attaching or offering your values too quickly, if at all.
ADVISE--Watch the temptation to "give" advice. Only "offer" advice. It's always better to say something like "I suggest we..." and not "Here's what you need to do".
TRUST--Is what open and honest communication is all about. Without trust teams can't function properly, people will loose respect for each other. Without trust you are building a house of cards that will eventually tumble down. With trust teamwork and cooperation are much easier to achieve.
EQUITY--Both parties must feel equal. While at first reading this may seem an unusual requirement in the Supervisor and Direct Report relationship. However even in this situation the relationship should be equal on the personal level. By using equality in speaking, you avoid the dreaded condescending speech.
COMFORT--While stress and tension may be surrounding the conversation learn to be comfortable with yourself and the message you are about to deliver.
INTEREST--Strive to have a genuine interest in others. Everyone has a story to tell and most of the time it is an interesting one! Talk in terms of what the other person is interested in. The familiar quote of "In order to be understood, we must first seek to understand others" is very true. Practice it.
MOTIVATE--Always be looking for ways to motivate others. Use positive reinforcement often. Look for ways to offer praise and recognition.
HUMOR--Take life seriously, not yourself. Life is too short to go without a constant stream of humor. Look for it.

Suicide Sandwhich
There were three friends: an Atenean, a La Sallite, and a UP student (soyou know this story is fictional). Anyway, everyday, they met for lunch andate their sandwiches.
UP: Putek! Peanut butter sandwich na naman? Sawang-sawa naako dito ah. Pag bukas, peanut butter sandwich na naman ang baon ko, magpapatiwakal na ako.
Ateneo: Darn! Roast beef sandwich again. I am sick of this already. If I get another roast beef sandwich again tomorrow, I am gonna shoot myself.
La Salle: Oh my gosh, grabe! Ham sandwich is my baon again. I am so sawa with this sandwich na, ha? If my baon tomorrow is ham sandwich again. I am gonna drive my CRV over the cliff.

The next morning, they again met for lunch, and, alas, they had the same sandwiches again. The UP student went back to his dorm, pulled out a beltand choked himself to death. The Atenean went home, got a gun, and shot himself in the head. The La Sallite drove his CRV off a cliff.

During their funeral, their mothers were interviewed:
UP: Kung sinabi niya lang sa akin na ayaw niya na nang peanut butter sandwich, eh di sana hindi na yun yung pinabaon ko sa kanya.
Ateneo: If he had told me that he did not want roast beefanymore, I wouldn't have prepared him roast beef.
La Salle: Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit siya nagpakamatay, eh siya naman yung gumagawa ng sarili niyang sandwich!

Roel's group outing

Last Nov 9-10, my daughter and I joined Roel and his group on an overnight swimming. We rented a private pool at Pansol, Calamba, don't know the name of the place. The assembly place was at Caltex-Sta. Rosa. We arrived at the place at around 10pm. It was an overnight inuman and swimming. The food was great and simple: bicol express, pasta, adobong mamoy, inihaw na pork, pansit bihon at sangkatutak na alcoholic drinks. Grabe, ang iingay nila at lasing pa. They enjoyed their swimming. Si Roel nga didn't sleep kasi sya ang nagligpit ng mga gamit nila. Pa'no kaming 2 ang pinakamatanda doon. Roel's kind TL is only 25.

The following day, kami ng anak ko ang nagbabad sa pool while tulog sila ang karamihan. We took pictures and video ng konti. Before lunch we left the place. We ate at binalot near the place. Then uwian na..

Hindi pa digicam eh..
